I've created a savings account in Chart of Accounts but I don't want the balance in that account account included in the cash flow forecast. Is there a way of doing this

Hello, studio-briandavi.

Let me explain why the balance in the chart of accounts is included in the cash flow.

When you set up your planner account, you can use the data from your accounts so QuickBooks automatically analyzes transactions to predict future money in and out. It also uses any transactions you’ve entered in QuickBooks with a future due date.

I've attached an article you can utilize to know where you stand financially: Track your cash flow in QuickBooks Online. It includes different reports and projections to get a clear look at your current and future businesses finances.

Don't hesitate to get back to me if you need further assistance with this. You can also post here again if you have any additional QuickBooks-related concerns. I'll be more than happy to help you out again. Take care, and have a great day!

Hello,

thank you for taking the time to reply.

However I know all that. I was simply wanting the ability to be able to look at a cash flow forecast for an individual account, without it being affected by income or expenditure from other accounts.

Sadly it appears this is not possible.

Good day, studio-briandavi. Let me share some insights on how the cash flow feature works in QuickBooks Online.

A cash flow forecast allows you to see how your cash flow will look in the coming weeks or months. This is done by analysing all of your anticipated income and expenditures up to 90 days in advance.

I see how having the ability to generate forecasts for each account can help your company. I recommend that you provide feedback to our product development team so that they can consider about adding this to the cash flow feature.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Then, select Next to submit.

Our Product Development team will receive and review your suggestions along with the other feature requests.

You can also check out this article to learn how you can personalise your financial reports so you can focus on specific accounts: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you still have other concerns about cash flow. I'd be glad to assist. Have great day!
