Let's find those five missing transactions from your online bank account, caroline356.
They're maybe stuck somewhere around the Banking menu. There are three areas to check to find those transactions:
You can start on the For Review tab. This is where QuickBooks puts recently downloaded transactions. If you find them, categorise them with the correct account. Transactions don't show up on your books until you categorise them.
Next, check the Categorised tab. This tells you what happens to transactions you've already categorised. Specifically, review the Added or Matched column. This tells you which account you categorised the transaction into. If you find them, but it's in the wrong account, unmatch and move them to the right one.
Finally, check the Excluded tab. If you mark them as personal or a duplicate, it goes here. QuickBooks won't add excluded transactions to your accounts. If you want to include them, select Undo from the action column. Then go back to the For Review tab and categorise them using the correct account.
Also, if you didn't categorise transactions, QuickBooks puts them into the Uncategorised Income or Uncategorised Expenses. To check these accounts:
If you still can't find them, I recommend downloading these transactions from your bank. Then, import them manually to QuickBooks.
Here's an article to guide you through the process: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. It provides instructions and detailed steps.
Please get back to me if there's anything else I can help you with finding those missing transactions. I'll be right here to guide you.
Hello,
I am a desktop user and have noticed a high number of missing transactions when uploading the qbo file manually in bankfeeds. The transaction are in the file but do not populate in QuickBooks. The QuickBooks system seems to filter out vendors with the same name on the same day such as Uber, Lyft, Uber Eats, etc. We need something to address this right away as I am manually having to enter over 40 transactions for up to 25 different card holders. Please advise how we can remedy this situation as changing platforms to QuickBooks online is not an option.
Hello there, @Accounting584. Let's configure your account to verify the cause of the missing transactions and fix it immediately.
I appreciate you sharing the details of your concern. To start, we can use the Search feature to look for the missing transactions. To do so, simply press the F3 key on your keyboard (or go to Edit and select Search). Once opened, enter a keyword (ex. name of the customer) to find the transactions.
If you still can't see them, let's now verify if you have created bank rules that might affect the import. For a detailed guide, please read this page: Set up bank rules to categorise online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.
If the same thing happens, you can switch your Bank Feed modes and import the .qbo file again.
However, if the issue persists, we can create a test file to check if the issue is within your company file. Here's how:
If this works, might be that your original company file may have a settings issue. To fix this, you can reset them. Please refer to Step 4 of this article: Fix Web Connect import errors. If not, there might be a problem with the .qbo file from your bank. To resolve this, I recommend reaching out to your bank for help. They can further assist you in handling these types of issues.
Once everything is set, your next step is to categorize and match the transactions to ensure they are allocated to the correct account in your company file.
If you have other concerns about importing your bank transactions, please don't hesitate to leave a reply below. Have a good day ahead and stay safe.
it doesnt fix, the transactions are simply missing, comparing it with the bank's visa statement. There is no pattern, just classic online Quickbooks
Let me provide additional information to get the missing transactions, digitaldriver.
If you haven't tried opening your company in a private window or incognito window, we can try it. It'll allow us to investigate whether the problem is related to your browser.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
If it works, clear the browser's cache. Doing so deletes all the data from your browser and optimizes its performance. Using other supported browsers also helps us verify if this is a browser-specific issue.
If the same thing happens, I suggest preparing an Excel CSV file for your entries. Then, upload them to QuickBooks manually. I'm adding these articles as your guide:
Once everything is in place, your final step is to reconcile your account to ensure your books are accurate and don't have any duplicate transactions. You can skim through the resources from this link as your reference: Reconcile transactions that are older than your opening balance in QuickBooks Online.
