You can pull up the Supplier Balance Detail report instead, ShopAdmin.
This report will show you the supplier's transactions, including the open balance. Here's how:
You can cutomise the report to show the specific details that you need. Then, memorise it so you won't go to the same customisation process again.

Hi keith33
What specific report are you running and are you amending the date range?
thanks.. I am trying to create a "suggested supplier payment" run, based on due dates
I have run a Transaction detail by account report, and used filters to select "Invoice" and ticked the "unpaid" box..
I was uncertain what dates to use in range.. so put in "Jan 1st" to "today's date"
maybe there's another way to do this?
keith
Thanks for getting back to us, @keith33.
You can consider running the Transaction List by Supplier report and customise it to show the data you need. Here's how.
In your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account:
Here's an article you can read to learn more about generating report to show the data you need: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.
Then, in case you need to export your reports from your QBO account, you can check this great article for the details: Export reports, lists, and more.

yes.. that worked... many thanks
Hi JasroV,
I have followed your instructions but I am unable to get a sum balance at the bottom
Is this normal ?
Thank you for looping in the thread, @ShopAdmin.
I appreciate you performing the steps provided by my colleague. I'd like to add some details regarding the Transaction List by Supplier report.
Yes, you're right. This specific report is working normally since it'll highlight the details of the transaction lists and doesn't count any balance. Thus, the sum balance isn't shown at the bottom. However, if you need to include it, you have the option to export this report to Excel and sum it from there.
You can check this guide on how to export: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.
This should get you going in the right direction. You can drop by again if you have follow-up questions. I'm always here to help.
You have clearly missed my point.
I do not want to mess about exporting to Excel just to add a SUM function
I expect the accounts system to show me, clearly, the transactions that make up the outstanding balance and to be able to filter that by date or group by month within the system and have subtotals and totals are appropriate.
At present there is no where to see this
It should be initially on the Supplier Account record. But on that screen you can not show the unpaid items....as it does not include unassigned credit notes....

Found it.....thank you - much appreciated.....
Woudl be good to havethat off the Supplier / Customer record though as that is kinda where most people start.
Thanks again
