Why has the outstanding VAT column been removed from the AR / AP reports? This is really useful for VAT reconciliation to TB when run on a cash basis

You can customize the columns of the reports to show the Outstanding VAT in the A/R and A/P reports, Rosie5.

Please note that there is no option to show the Outstanding VAT column in the A/R and A/P Ageing Summary Report.

In the A/P Ageing Detail Report, if you're using the modern view, the Outstanding VAT column is not available. However, you can switch to the classic view to add this column. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. In the search field type, A/P Ageing Detail Report.
  3. Click Switch to classic view.

  4. Select the Gear icon, then Show More.

On the other hand, it is available in both classic and modern views in the A/R Ageing Detail Report. To customize the modern view, see the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Reports.
  2. Enter A/R Ageing Detail Report in the search box.
  3. Click Columns, then check the box beside Outstanding VAT.

To ensure your VAT return is accurate before submitting it to HMRC, run the VAT Liability report. You can view details by tax agency and drill down into individual transactions: Use VAT reports in QuickBooks.

You can click the Reply button if you have questions about customising reports. We'll be around to answer them for you.

Hi LouiseG

Is the show vat column option available in the PLUS version of Quickbooks ? I am using PLUS in Ireland and I do not have an option to show outstanding VAT on either detail reports, Payables or Receivables.
