Hello Markw555, The only way to select a template for a customer that is not the default template is to within the invoice select the customise and change the tick to be the invoice that you won't. There is not a way to for example default a template for a customer. You would have to select it from the customise each time.
Hi markw555, you can select this by selecting 'Customise' on the footer of the template. :)
I seems not to have explained my issue.
I have already created 3 different templates according to different payment details. I now want to be assign the correct invoice template to each client, so that the correct customer-specific invoice template is used when I issue an invoice.

Hi
We have set up different invoice templates for different currencies - necessary because our banking details are different for each currency. Unfortunately Quickbooks does not allocate the appropriate template to each customer, so we have to change template every time we enter an invoice but we cannot work out how to do this. The suggested solution, using the customize button, doesn't work because our customize button does not offer an option to change template - it only allows us to edit Fields, Custom Field and Optional Columns.
How on earth do we choose the right template for each customer (this was so easy on Desktop, but Quickbooks seem determined to make everything as complicated and laborious as possible on OnLine).

Hello Jim-carrick-design, thanks for posting on this thread, so as long as you have created the custom templates for each currency in the custom forms section and saved them. When you to + new and select invoice, when you click customise at the bottom of the invoice it should then bring up a list of all your invoice templates for you to then select the right template you need for that invoice before you send it off.
Hello,
As the accountant I have the Customise option at the bottom when creating a new invoice but I have a sales ledger assistant with only access to sales that doesn't have the customise option. How she can choose a different invoice template that I have already created?
Thanks
Your sales ledger assistant can access the customise option if she has the appropriate role and permissions set within QuickBooks Online (QBO), Paty. I'll provide more details on this below.
When adding a user in QuickBooks, you can set specific roles to control their access to tasks and data. You can assign either billable or non-billable roles, where only billable users count towards your user limit.
Non-admin users with access to manage users can't add, edit, or delete admin users. On the other hand, to let your sales ledger assistant use the customise option, set their role to Standard all access.
You can utilize this article for the various user role guides in QuickBooks: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.
I've also included the resources below that can help you with your future task transactions:
