Estimation's

Why does QB not have automatic acceptance of estimations, so that the client can accept the price? this way the business would not have to chase clients to see if they accept the price. In addition, why is there only a option to give estimations and not quotes, as in the UK these are different.

Estimations can differ in price

Quotations are a largely binding price between company and client.

Clients prefer Quotes so they know what they will pay

Thanks for getting back to this thread, @UK Plumber.

I recognize how relevant changing the Estimate summary at the bottom of the email to your business is. Currently, this option is unavailable in QuickBooks Online.

At times, we roll out enhancements based on our customer's requests. That being said, I suggest sending a recommendation to our product developers. They'll review this idea and might consider updating it in the future.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear located at the top.
  2. Under Profile, click Feedback.
  3. Enter your recommendation and select Submit.

I also encourage you to visit this resource that will guide you in personalizing your sales forms: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

As always, add a comment below if you have any other questions about managing your quotations in QuickBooks. I'm here to help always. Take care!

Hi UK Plumber!

I see the convenience of letting your customers accept estimates on their end. We've actually rolled out this feature to a few US accounts and we'll add more by mid-September. I recommend sending a suggestion from your QBO company, so our engineers know that many UK clients also need the said feature. Just click on the Gear icon and choose Feedback.

You can also send a separate suggestion about adding an option to create quotations. Right now, our workaround is to create an estimate template for the said purpose. Just name the form as Quote or Quotation.

Create a Quotation form using the estimate template:

  1. Click on the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Custom form styles.
  3. Click the New style button and select Estimate.
  4. Name the template to something like Quotation or something like that.
  5. Choose the Content tab.
  6. Click the Header section of the previewed estimate on the right.
  7. Change the form name to Quote or Quotation.
  8. Click Preview PDF or Done to save the template.

Use the form:

  1. Click New and choose Estimate.
  2. Click the Customise option at the bottom.
  3. Select your template for quotations.

You can always go back to this thread if you have any other questions about estimates. We're just around to continue to help.
