Hello Sazmo2005,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the community.
Can you check the currency of the Paypal account in QuickBooks by going to Accounting > Chart of accounts > locate Paypal account and click 'edit' on the action column drop-down.
If the currency is set to USD you will need to disconnect the Paypal account (tick 'disconnect this account on save' here) and create a new chart of account for Paypal in QuickBooks with GBP currency, then connect the Paypal account to this.
Let us know if this does not fix the problem :)

Hey Sazmo2005,
My apologies - the steps above were for Online and I can see you're using Desktop.
You can access the chart of account from any of the following menus; Company, Lists, or Accountant, or by pressing Ctrl + A on your keyboard.
Thanks!

Hello Sazmo2005
The Self Employed product does not support multi currency or Paypal accounts with multi currency in.
Are the Paypal transactions in GBP on the Paypal statement or do they show in USD and then on the statement is it showing an additional column with the conversion to GBP?
Thanks
Emma

Hello there, Sazmo2005.
Allow me to join this thread bring clarifications to your concern about importing transactions from Paypal with multiple currencies.
As mentioned by one of my colleague EmmaM, QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) doesn't have the option to sync multiple currency accounts. What you can do is to manually change or edit the transactions to the correct currency.
Since you're new with QuickBooks Self-Employed, I'm excited to share this article to be more familiar with the product: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview.
Please let me know by leaving a comment below if you have further questions with QBSE. I'll be around to help at anytime.

I appreciate your response, Sazmo2005.
Let me share the steps on how to edit the transactions to the correct currency.
Feel free to read through this article on how to assign, categorize, edit, and add your downloaded banking transactions in QuickBooks.
Let me know if you have additional questions about this. I'm still here whenever you need more help.

Let's check out why your transactions are exported in a different currency, Sazmo2005.
Please check your PayPal settings to see if there's an option to export your transactions in a different currency. Also, your PayPal account in QuickBooks should be in GBP to match your currency in PayPal.
If there's no option in PayPal and if your PayPal account is in the correct currency, please can contact our phone or chat agent. They can request a screen-sharing session to see your setup.
I'm just around if you have other questions about your transactions.
Not sure if this relates directly to the problem you're encountering but the only time I've seen something similar to what you are having was when the computer system date and time settings were factory set to the US rather than the UK.
