How do I get my bank accounts transactions to go back 12 months?

Let me help and guide you on how to handle your banking concern, @pariswetenhall-g.

When you link your bank and credit card accounts, QuickBooks uploads all of your transactions up to a specific date. Most banks are only allowed to import data going back 90 days. That said, this requires you to manually upload older transactions that happened before your account was connected to QuickBooks.

You'll first have to pick a start date and know the oldest existing transaction in your account to avoid duplication. Simply go to your account's registration on the Chart of Accounts page. Afterwards, log in to the website of your bank to access your transactions. Lastly, check the file you have to make sure it is formatted correctly.

When everything is ready to upload, you may proceed as follows:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. Click the Link account drop-down and then select Upload from file.
  4. Select Browse and then choose the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, select Next.
  5. In the QuickBooks account drop-down, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then select Next.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then, select Next.
  7. Select the transactions you would like to import. Then, select Next.
  8. Click Yes.
  9. When you're ready, select Let's go.

You must review the transactions once they have been posted and/or compare them to the QBO records that already exist. This way, your financial data will stay accurate.
