I have two overdue invoices, but when I add the payments to them it doesn't register the payments and they remain overdue. How do I fix this?

I've even deleted all payments from that customer and reentered them all in case there was a duplicate or something!
Nothing I do seems to work on just these two invoices, it's very frustrating.
It comes up saying something like, no items listing on invoice

Let me help you with your invoices, brotherbenshandy.

Aside from deleting the payments, you can also delete the invoices. Then, create replacements and apply payments. If the same thing happens, you'll want to do the basic browser troubleshooting steps like signing in to QuickBooks in a private browser or clearing your browser's cache.

Keyboard shortcut keys to open a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N
