When I import multiple bills into QBO, I can't get the customer/project field or the class field to upload. It is entered on my CSV but just doesn't populate in QBO. I then have to go individually into the bills to add them in by which time I may aswell have just posted the bill manually. Why can't these fields upload or am I doing something incorrectly?

As of the moment, there isn't an integrated way to insert or add a column to select a customer, project, or class while creating a CSV file of bills to import in QuickBooks. For now, we may need to select each transaction information after importing the bills.

While I am unable to determine when such a feature like this is added to the program, I recommend getting in touch and letting our product developers know about this by sending a request via feedback. I'll show you how.

I do not see "bills" in the import screen. Did this get deleted?
I can help import your bill, harleysmith.
The bill is available for import in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Essentials, Plus, and Advanced. However, this isn't an option for the Simple Start version. As a workaround, you may want to upgrade to the said versions or explore a third-party application that'll help import the data.
Otherwise, if you're using higher plans, let's perform basic troubleshooting steps. You may have accumulated too much historical data. Whenever you visit a website, it saves some information from the web page in its cache and cookies. These files allow the websites you visit most often to load faster. Not to worry, clearing them will do the trick.
First, let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:
Once done, import the bill again. If it works, switch back to your regular browser. Then, clear its cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also use a different supported one.

Additionally, you can check this article to learn more about importing data in QBO: Common questions about importing data.

Hi Team!
Any update on this matter as we really need this feature to be efficient in preparing the billable costs to our client and to properly tag per class.
Hoping for your success improvement for this matter that will have a great impact to us. :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Thank you.
Hello Lendy, thanks for adding to this Community thread, there are no current plans to change the import bills template to include class. It would be a case of manually adding class once the bills had been imported which we appreciate is not ideal. We will pass on your feedback as we do see how it would be positive in its impact for your business.
