Like you reading the thread properly you mean. If the fix was as simple as you suggest some of us may have done that by now.

Ray you may think it's an easy task having to download each invoice in pdf, however many companies can generate vast amount of invoice per week. Imagine doing that with several hundred a week, or even a day!

Intuit keep missing deadlines and just keep repeating that they are fixing the issue. They even marked this thread as having a solution, which clearly it isn't a satisfactory solutuon for most.

Butting in with stupid chipper comments just winds people up when you've clearly not read the thread or understand the problem.

Actually you have just made your self sound stupid! No one mentioned downloading anything! Instead of jumping on bandwagon when you don’t have a clue what’s been said, you should really get the full picture….. the easiest way around this issue!! Asking the customer to add QB email address to ther safe list … yeah it’s something that shouldn’t need be done but it works for now!! Quick email to customer hey could you please add this email addy to safe list “[email address removed]” so you receive my invoice as QB have an issue at the moment!.. anyways let’s just forget all about your stupid comment yeah,,, enjoy your evening, hope you take something from this fuss !!

The solution that Intuit have suggested it to DOWNLOAD a copy of an invoice, and then send that to your customer via your own business email client. Now, imagined doing that for every single invoice a company generate? As I said this could be hundred per day in some cases. This adds a lot of hours to a simple task of sending an invoice.
By simply stating you need to get your customers to add quickbooks email to their servers. Again, imagine doing that to multiples of clients, or try get large multinational to add the email to the safe senders address on their server? Again, a lot of extra effort for something that shouldn’t be a problem.

Plus, what you obviously don’t know, because you’ve not read this thread properly, is that there is also issues with the quicklook url being aded to a blacklist in a database which helps control spam. By doing this email won’t even be getting to a email inbox, which means your suggested is mute. There’s also another layer of mess regarding small shops with customer and being sent their invoice, but, of course you don’t get it so no point trying to explain that to you.

Thanks for the insult, you've obviously been called worse.

My emailed invoices are not being received by my customers

I understand this isn't an easy process for you, @Mark Armistead. I'd want to address your concerns about QuickBooks emails being blocked and clients not receiving invoices sent via email.

It appears that the investigation as to why clients aren't receiving e-invoices is still ongoing. Be assured that our product engineers are working diligently to find the best solution for this. I advise getting in touch with our Customer Care assistance if you haven't already. By doing this, they can include your account on the list of users that are affected. Additionally, we will email you updates or case progress notices.

Additionally, you may add the host names and IP addresses of the QuickBooks Online mail servers to your outgoing mail servers. This will ensure that QuickBooks will not be restricted. For the whole procedure, see this article: 3 solutions for you when customers aren't receiving your emails

If the issues persist, see these alternate ways to send forms:

  • Save the form as a PDF and send it via email through your business or other email address
  • (For invoices or estimates only) Send your customer a link to their invoice or estimate through SMS or messenger service. Simply select “save and share link” then hit “copy link” and paste it into your SMS or messenger service.
  • If you're using a Gmail or G-suite email account, you can use the Send with Gmail feature to send QBO forms from your own address following the steps in Use your Gmail address to send invoices (non-US Experts please search for the same article title within your region if sending the link to your customer).
  • Save your document as a PDF, print it, and send your client their forms via mail.

Once everything is in order, feel free to read this guide if you'd like to personalise invoices and/or other sales forms in QuickBooks: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

You can always get back to us if you need more help with this matter or QuickBooks in general. We're here to assist 24/7. Take the best care!

My emailed invoices are not being received by my customers

@ray fradge The solution you suggest would work if the emails were being allowed through the servers but they are not. It is not a case of them dropping into the customer's spam folder or of the customer's emailer software blocking them. The invoices don't get that far -  they are being blocked at server level. and to compound the problem this means our QBO software doesn't get a hard bounce so we have no clue that our sales invoices haven't been received - until the customers don't pay.  Worse still, some invoices get through and others do not. And sometimes a few will get through to a particular customer and then some don't and then they start getting through again. So customers may pay earlier and later invoices and then you can't match it up becuase there are a batch in the middle they haven't paid.  The servers must be continually re-listing the QB domain as a sender of spam, presumably in some sort of automated process. Nothing our customers can do will fix this issue. Only QB can fix it - very simply by allowing us to use our own corporate emails to send out our sales invoices.

My emailed invoices are not being received by my customers

@Mich_S Hmmm.

Not many of us will be using gmail - lucky if they are - but surely that's for personal email accounts, not so much businesses?

My own business has its own domain hosted by Freeola, and I set this up myself - similar story for my clients who are purchasing your software through me. The only I.T. expert here is me so I will need a a step by step guide as to how to do what I need to do. And I can then share that with my clients.

Alternatively, can you tell me how I can get QBO to send emails via my own email address please? This is the solution I really need - and I need to be able to see a sent box with all my covering emails which currently I do not have.

BTW - can you change the status of this thread fron solved please as patently it isn't solved?

Thanks for tuning in.

This isn't the impression we want you to have, @info661.

I can see how important having the ability to use your own domain to send emails in QuickBooks Online (QBO) would be helpful for you and your business. That said, rest assured that I'll pass along your suggestion to our Product Developers. They're always looking for ideas to consider on how to improve QBO.

For now, I suggest visiting our Blog site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features. Please refer to the link shared by my colleague above.

I also encourage you to visit this resource that will guide you in personalizing your sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QBO.

As always, add a comment below if you have any other questions about customizing your own domain to send emails in QuickBooks. Take care.

My emailed invoices are not being received by my customers

@DebSheenDthe issue has been ongoing since February. I don't really care how  its done or how I "experience" it  but as an agent for QBO I need this fixing - the product is not working. Please can you send me a step by step guide for your "step 3" solution and offer  I.T. support for all your small business customers so that your customers can all implement the step 3 solution . as shown on here https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/manage-customers/3-solutions-customer.... That's assuming you are going to continue to insist on us sending customer invoices using the intuit email address - and lets face it, its the intuit email address that is causing the issue. QBO seem unable to get other servers to permanently recognise your email address as safe - so you are continually getting blocked at server level. We cannot go on like this.

@DebSheenDI think you need to read the full thread - the issue is not about cusomising sales forms its about sometimes getting invoices to customers and sometimesnot,  because the intuit email address is getting blocked at server level. Please also change the status of this thread -it is very much NOT SOLVED

My emailed invoices are not being received by my customers

The QB Team marked this thread as solved some months back even though they know it isn't solved.

It is disgraceful to mark it as solved when they know it is an ongoing issue.

Their suggestion of download each invoice as a pdf and emailing it manually is ridiculous, first of all this would create excess work with companies having to potentially download 100's or 1,000's of invoices and emailing, also what about recurring invoices? You would have to check each day to see which recurring invoices had been generated by the systems, download them and email. Totally unworkable!

The issue is clearly the QB email servers being blocked by network spam filters not by users mail servers, using Gmail as solution is also not acceptable, Gmail is only free for personal use and if you are using it for business use you should subscribe to their business service.

Their are thousands of businesses that use their own mail servers to deliver bulk mail and don't get blacklisted as QB severs do, Amazon, Ebay, PayPal to name just a few ensure their servers are not blocked. QB should be able to prevent their mail servers being blacklisted as spam.

It's time QB stopped posting rubbish saying this is a high priority and simply fixed the issue, it is astonishing how many QB employees have come on to this thread posting responses that just expose the fact they have not even read the thread.

At least have the decency to remove the SOLVED marker from this thread, it is an insult to everyone who is experiencing these issues!

Hello Chrishawkins, we are still looking into this and the solution is to offer workarounds in the meantime. We know it isn't ideal but we're trying to offer an alternative whilst we find a fix.

Just an honest question.

If QBO is still working on it, why is the thread solved?

Ashleigh. I’ve mentioned this before but why aren’t senior management address this issue to us customer with a proper timeline and when this will be fixed. By constantly stating ‘our engineers are aware of the issues and are working on a fix’ is just not acceptable as an answer.

I don’t think ANYONE at Intuit understand what a massive mess this is causing. We’ve got enough external issues to deal with without Intuit taking the mick and not sorting this mess out.

And it was Intuit that forced many users over onto this pile of rubbish you tout as been the future.

THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

There seems to be NO accountability on QBO/Intuit's side - no consequences to the lack of action or progress. They may never address the problem until customers start leaving and they start losing market-share and revenue.

Also, how many different support agents have responded to this thread repeating the same answers or without anything new to offer? Even if there is nothing new to say, the comms is so fragmented and disconnected. One agent needs to own this issue/case and follow through with updates and communications. That could go a long way in rebuilding the trust and confidence. Or have someone senior chime in some official capacity so we know the run around we've all been getting is not complete BS.

Hello User since 2008, it is marked as solution so that the workaround options appear at the top of the page for other customers to see,  so other customers don't have to scroll through the big thread looking for any workarounds. We get that it is not resolved but its there in case any customers are looking for a workaround.
