How can you create the csv file to import? I just exported an xls file before and it created a CVS file but now my computer won't do it. I have been spending 4 hours trying to import one month of data. This is not satisfactory. Can anyone help. I was able to do this is Microsoft 365 but now it won't do it. I have tried ten times every which way. Thank you. I am finding Quickbox really unhelpful as I could do half my year's accounts in 5 hours so its doubling the time I am spending because there are two many unexplained stages and no human to talk to.

Hi Jane,
It's good to have you here in the QuickBooks Community! I'll help you with creating a CSV file to import your transactions.
To covert an XLS file into CSV, you only need to save another copy and make sure the file type is set to CSV. The CSV could be CSV (Comma delimited) or CSV (Comma Separated Values), depending on what you see. You can try both file types. Below screenshot shows where you can choose a file type.
In addition, you'll want to make sure that your transaction list or data are formatted correctly so they can be imported without issues. You can find more details in this article: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.
If you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to go back to this thread. Take care and have a good one!
Thank you so much for your reply. I have been doing this and exporting excel files as csv files but Quickbooks won't accept them any more. It was so stressful I haven't look at it since I posted a few weeks ago. I managed to import 11 months and then that process just stopped working. I will try the other advice.
Thank you thought. I appreciated it.
Jane
Thank you. I will try that if I don't succeed. But I thought this would be easy and you wouldn't need third party software. Its so dissapointing. I appreciate your suggestion and I will take a look.
Many thanks
Jane
It appears to be a paid for solution and my business is so small so I just can't add another expense. Even a small one. But thank you.
Hello JanePendry, when you try and save your excel document to upload is it not showing you the csv option? If you don’t have a csv option then you will need to speak to Microsoft for further assistance as this sounds link more of a Microsoft office issue then a QuickBooks issue.
Thank you. I was able to convert to cbs files but realised QuickBooks wasn’t accepting them unless I logged out and back in again. This has not been mentioned but I think it’s an important detail. The cbs files were fine all along. The issue was with QuickBooks. All resolved now. Thank you.
