Bulk entry for invoices and expences in Quickbooks online

Is there a way to enter invoice & expenses in batch instead of having to enter everyone individually and save and new?

 

I know I could do it on a spreadsheet and import it but it is time consuming having to make sure all the spellings are the same etc

 

If not is there any hope of it being a feature in the future?

To clarify, QuickBooks Online US version can only create and send multiple invoices in QuickBooks Online Advanced

 

For the UK version, the quickest and the best option is to import them at once.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Settings menu and then select Import data.
  2. Select Invoices, then select Browse and then find and select the spreadsheet of your invoices. 
  3. Select Next.

 

After that, make sure to map your spreadsheet’s column headings to match with QuickBooks fields. 

 

Here's how:

  1. Map the column headers with invoice fields in QuickBooks. Fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
  2. Select Not applicable for any fields not in your spreadsheet. If product or service isn’t added, QuickBooks populates with a generic item called "sales".
  3. Select the date format you used, like DD/MM/YYYY. Note: While importing the invoices, ensure that the invoice dates are in present and past. The invoices with the future dates will not be imported.
  4. Select Exclusive or Inclusive as your tax option. To see this option, set up VAT in QuickBooks.
  5. Click Next.

 

Then, map your tax codes:

  1. Match your VAT codes to those setup in QuickBooks.
  2. Select Next.

I was after a way to do it within quickbooks as apose to paying more on top of what I already pay for the program.

Two & A Half Years Later Now 2022 Still No Bulk Entry Like Desktop.

No Bulk Delete.

Letting you create multiple invoices and other transactions one at a time will surely help you do your QuickBooks task smoothly. However, bulk entry and bulk delete are not yet available in QuickBooks Online.

 

We take customer suggestions as opportunities to improve the various features of our products. This helps us improve your experience while using the program. Here's how you can send your feedback to our Product Team.

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Type in your recommendation in the Share your feedback field.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

It is available in the U.S I believe so y not the UK ?  It seems very bizarre

Please do not say this is solved because it is not. I would like a bulk entry feature like on QuickBooks Desktop or Sage Batch Entry. I would also like a bulk delete. Surely this is not hard to do especially when something similar is available in the U.S

I know how important to have a functionality that can enter a bulk entry and bulk delete feature like QBDT has. While this is unavailable in QuickBooks Online, I'd recommend sending feedback to our Product Development Team. At times, we roll out updates based on the requests that we receive from our customers. Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Choose Feedback.
  4. Enter the new features you would like us to add.
  5. Click Next to submit feedback. 

 

In the meantime, you'll want to consider import multiple invoices at once as a workaround.

We are being forced to move to other software when Desktop ceases. Surely, Quickbooks Online should offer a like for like software. If bulk entry is available in the US, then why not in the UK?

As for this upload, well this is more time consuming when our supplier invoices are generally sent via postal services.

Come on Quickbooks Online, get your act together and provide a software that is fit for purpose. Sending feedback is fruitless!
