Business Mileage in one go - QB Self Employed

Hi there, thank you in advance for the help!

I have not tracked my mileage for business as I didn't realise it was better to do simplified expenses.

I take 80% of overall mileage as business, 20% personal so have a total mileage to claim (only 6758.40 miles).

My question is, can I claim these in one total amount in quickbooks? I am not sure how to do it!

thank you

Danny

Hi Dazman_1988, your most welcome and you would just enter it as one journey as a total and categories it as car,van and travel expenses.

Hello Dazman_1988,

Welcome to the Community page,

We don't see why you couldn't do this, there is nothing stopping you from doing it within the product however we would advise you speak and get in contact with HMRC to see if they would accept this or if they would require a full breakdown/create them separately in the product.

thank you Ashleigh, very kind. My friend who is an accountant has said this is ok.

Another question how do you do it in the product? Is it one journey as a total?

thank you again
