Can I style the PDF template used for statements? I'd like this to look more like the invoices that I send out (in terms of colors etc).

Just re-read your first post @Woodpecker UK Ltd

...and the column which has now appeared on QBO that was previously not there is "Service Date".

Again, an extra column on the input screen shouldn't affect the print output but to get rid of the Service Date column on the screen (assuming you aren't using it of course), open an invoice input/edit screen, go to the settings cog icon & this screen will pop out...

The Optional Columns > Date is the Service Date column.

Hope this helps.

Hi Paul, as I recall, the files I uploaded that were my bespoke templates were created in MS Word, so I guess docx sounds like the right kind of format for what you refer to. Thing is, I'd Love to be able to re-upload a template, that way I could upload a new statement template while I'm at it (which as the majority of my customers pay up quickly, I've never needed until a few months ago), but unfortunately, the powers that be at QBO seem to have removed the ability to upload your own template any more.

If, like me and many others, probably yourself included, you had done so prior to some date back in the previous year or two (No idea exactly when it was removed, they never advertised the fact), then you can keep using it or them, but if you want to upload a new template or if you want to change something on your existing bespoke template, you can no longer do so, or such is my understanding of the current situation anyway. Do you still have access to the ability to upload a new template @paul72 ?

There never was an option to upload a docx template for Statements, @Woodpecker UK Ltd - only Invoices & Estimates.

(that was the initial bugbear of this thread - QBO Statements are woeful)

However, as per my post a couple of months ago (up there somewhere ), if you have previously uploaded a docx invoice/estimate template you should still have the option to upload new ones.

I haven't gone through it but I certainly still have the Settings>Custom Form Styles>New Style>Import Style gives option of Invoice or Estimate.

@paul72 You could quite possibly be my favourite person of 2023 thus far!

I know you were referring to the additional column that appears on my input screen, which is nothing more than a slight distraction, but it did jog my grey matter to see if the settings for a general template altered the settings for all of my 4 bespoke templates, and it appears that it does!

I have no idea why, (I don't recall going into the settings recently and certainly not around the time when I noticed the "Service Provided" column on my bespoke invoices was no longer getting populated), but I've just checked the settings and the box for "Service/Product" wasn't ticked on the standard template, even though that box appeared on my input screen and allowed me to populate it with the correct information. I ticked it, went back to a few of my already issued invoices that were previously not displaying correctly, and they are now displaying correctly! Awesome! Thank you Paul, you've lowered the temperature of my blood significantly this morning!

Perhaps QBO might give you a discount on your subscription this year for saving one of their customers from a nervous breakdown when their own tech support couldn't help!? Unlikely, but we can dream.

Make yourself a brew, put your feet up and smile. Not for long mind, there's work to be done! ;)

We're only a few days in, @Woodpecker UK Ltd  - so that could change!

Strange.  I did actually write a suggestion to check that - but then deleted it assuming it couldn't possibly cause the problem!

Anyway - glad to have helped - even if only to have jogged your grey matter.

Kettle on, feet up as instructed (I don't need telling twice!).
