CSV file debits show as zero (cooperative bank)

Hello,

I am importing some transaction and these are the steps I have taken:

1. Downloaded CSV file

2. Uploaded them to QB and it worked fine

3. Realised that all the debits show as zero (credits are fine)

4. Went back into the CSV and formatted the columns to say CREDIT and DEBIT instead of MONEY IN and MONEY OUT

5. Saved as a new CSV

6. Now QB won't let me upload the newly saved CSV file. Error code:

Darn. File upload failed.

Please see attached the two formats I tried.

What can I do?

Hi Alice Lodge Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community. I presume you mean the credit amounts show as zero having viewed the image you posted. It appears from the second image that you have formatted the CSV correctly, only 4 columns, however in the event that the image isn't showing other columns you may have included I'd be grateful if you can delete them and ensure that you only have 4 columns and save the file again, in accordance with the following article and then attempt to upload the file again: https://intuit.me/3XFEx3v

Thank you, John! That is correct. I have formatted it with only four columns as you have seen attached and QB won't let me upload the CSV file. Any other ideas?

I just tried it again exactly the same way I did the other day and it worked. So for anyone struggling with the coop CSV. Change it to a four column excel sheet (this time I hid the title too no idea if that was the problem) and then change money in and money out out credit and debit. Re safe as a CSV not an excel and you should be ok!

Hi Alice, thanks for checking that. Please try reformatting the date to dd/mm/yyyy (in Excel, highlight the cells in the column and select Ctrl + 1 to reformat). Please then save the file and open QuickBooks through an incognito/private browsing window to re-try the upload.

Edit: Thanks for updating the thread, Alice! I'm pleased to hear you were able to upload the file. :)
