has anyone got a template to upload petty cash transactions

Hello there, Sharon.  Welcome to the Community—it’s great to see you make your first post here. The template used to import petty cash transactions will depend on how you're planning to bring them into QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let’s explore the options so you can get started.

It’s important to note that only specific transaction types can be imported into QBO. For petty cash entries, you can upload them as journal entries or bank data.

For journal entries,  here’s how you can obtain the sample file or template:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Import data, then Journal Entries.
  3. Select the Download an example option.

For bank data, while there isn’t a downloadable template available, you can adjust your CSV file manually in one of these ways:

  • The 3-column format. It includes the Date, Description, and Amount columns. Here's what it should look like:

  • The 4-column format. It contains Date, Description, Credit, and Debit columns. Refer to this image for visual reference:

Once your file is ready, ensure you’ve set up a petty cash account in QuickBooks so you can proceed with the importing process. For complete guidance, please scan these articles:

With the information above, you should be able to get the template used to import petty cash activities. If you have other questions, leave them in this thread using the Reply button below. I’ll be around to lend a hand whenever you need one. Have a great day!
