It’s important to note that only specific transaction types can be imported into QBO. For petty cash entries, you can upload them as journal entries or bank data.
For journal entries, here’s how you can obtain the sample file or template:
- Click the Gear icon.
- Choose Import data, then Journal Entries.
- Select the Download an example option.

For bank data, while there isn’t a downloadable template available, you can adjust your CSV file manually in one of these ways:
- The 3-column format. It includes the Date, Description, and Amount columns. Here's what it should look like:
