Hello Nick33
As the desktop app pulls its online connection through the default browser, can we ask you to try clearing the cache and cookies in Microsoft edge and then logging into QuickBooks and then hit on update in the banking section.
Let us know if you have the same issue.
Thanks
Emma
Good day to you, @nick33,
I want to make sure you can get your bank data into QuickBooks.
Before anything else, may I know what financial institution are you using? This will help me check for reported cases related to your bank.
In the meantime, let's try troubleshooting this unexpected behavior by updating your bank manually. Here's how you can do that:
If you're still experiencing the same behavior after updating your bank, you can follow the remaining steps on this article: Fix Online Banking Errors in QuickBooks Online
Please update me on how the call goes. I'm here to help you whenever you need further assistance. All the best!
Thanks for the quick and helpful response. My bank is Barclays Business (in the UK). I have gone into my bank account - no messages about security updates etc. I have also 'updated' my Bank account online and in the desktop App. None of this worked. I then manually downloaded and uploaded the transactions which worked... It would be nice to get a permanent fix. Looking online, users reported a previous problem with not being able to download transactions from Barclays.
Hello nick33,
We are not currently aware of an issue with downloading transactions from Barclays - we would like to quickly run through some troubleshooting steps to rule this out. Could you please confirm which browser you are using?
Thanks,
Talia
Hi Talia
I'm using Microsoft edge, but have had issues with both QBO and the Desktop App.

Thanks Emma. Cleared the cache and cookies in Microsoft edge. I then decided to open up quickbooks through Google Chrome. Not sure which one of these worked, but it worked. Thanks.
Hi Nick
Glad to hear it is resolved.Chrome is definitely the best browser to use QuickBoooks in:)
