I hear you and realise the importance that this feature can have for your business. You've got me here to help share some information about developing our product.
The memo field on the banking section, can be used to all transactions that were manually entered in QuickBooks. However, we aim to help our customers run their business easier. That being said, we are constantly uncovering ways to make the product work the way your business needs. We're adding features based largely on the suggestions of users, like yourself.
As we strive had to develop the product, I'd recommend visiting our QuickBooks Online Blog to be updated with our latest news and enhancements.

I understand the inconvenience that this has caused you, but your patience while this has been assessed is much appreciated.
Please know that my doors are always open to help you if there's anything else you need with QuickBooks. Wishing you and your business continued success.

When using the matching feature, the memo from the bank transaction won't automatically show on the transaction that is saved in QuickBooks Online.
The program will retain the detail on the transaction that was manually created in the program. However, when using the Add transaction feature, the memo detail is automatically copied.
As a workaround, you can copy the memo and paste it to the transaction in QuickBooks. I'll show you how:

Hi Precious B
Thanks for getting back to me. The work around looks like it will work but adding the extra step seems to be defeating the purpose of showing the memo in the Banking module in the first place. What purpose does memo field serve?
This detail would be very valuable when scrolling through lots of supplier accounts and being able to Quick(ly) identify which credits are actual payments and which are Credit Notes. It would also be very helpful where it is an international payment and the payment amount differs from the invoice due to exchange differences. Perhaps something for the techies to consider.
Thanks for reaching back out, @erick.futuretale.
