Hi ben-robinson3, the 'message to customer' field is interlinked across all invoices and other sales forms, therefore we recommend entering a generalised message here. You can instead edit the message when sending, or enter the message on the CIS service line. To do this, navigate to sales > products and services > select edit beside the CIS code > see 'description on sales form' field.
Hi Thanks for the reply.
I don't think changing the sales form info is appropriate.
I'm struggling to understand why you offer ability to create different templates then. Can you give me a real world example of when I would use an alternative template?
Also, can I ask when QB plan to add VAT amounts to invoices where CIS RC VAT codes are used? The legislation has been in place for nearly 2 years now and the invoices produced by QB are not compliant. I thought I could just create a new template and add the mandatory text that must appear on the invoices to the notes but this is not the case :\
kind regards
Thanks for getting back to me ben-robinson3, the invoice templates are largely for visual purposes, however there are some fields (such as the name) that are not interlinked. We appreciate that it would be useful to have completely customisable fields, and we'd appreciate you sharing your feedback for this by clicking the Cog > Feedback in your account. This way, your comments will be submitted to our developers for further review. We're also unaware of any upcoming changes to implement the mandatory text when using the RC CIS code, and recommend submitting feedback for this too.
@ben-robinson3You are wasting your time asking if anything can be changed within QBO. The devs don't dev anymore. You'll just have ot make do or find a different accounting programme :(
