Importing Sales Receipts into Desktop Version of QB

I found this Post dealing with importing Sales receipts into the Online version:

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-articles/how-to-import-sales-receipts/00/3328...

Is this same functionality available in the newer Desktop versions also?  I use a 3rd party app now but would love to get away from it.

Thanks  for any help you can give me.

Importing Sales Receipts into Desktop Version of QB

Hello there, @Jmartz.

I'd be happy to provide some details on how you can import sales receipts into QuickBooks Desktop.

You have the option to import the sales receipts through the Intuit Interchange Format. This is used to import QuickBooks Desktop data to and from different platforms.

To import the file:

  1. Sign in to your company file as the Admin.
  2. Make sure you are in Single User mode.
  3. Click on File at the top menu bar.
  4. Select on Utilities then Import.
  5. Choose IIF Files.
  6. Locate your .IIF file and highlight it. Then Open.
  7. Select OK on the pop-up message confirming your data has been imported.

To give you the complete details on this process, you can check out this reference: Import Intuit Interchange Format (.IIF) files.

I'm also included here a link that you can read through to know more about IIF files.

If you need additional assistance with the procedure you can always reach out to our Customer Care Team.

Please let me know if you have any other questions with importing sales receipts. I'll be around to provide continued support. Take care!
