Hello Community Users, We just wanted to pop in and add to this thread. While you can't change the wording of ship to on an invoice you do have the option of removing the shipping box and using a custom field box instead. You could create a new form for this purpose only or edit the current one you use if you want this to be the case for all invoices. To do this go to the settings cog in the top right of Quickbooks>custom form styles>then edit on the form you use>go to content and then click on the top third of the preview and under display untick shipping and save. Then go to the cog again>lists>custom fields>add field. Select which sales forms or all forms>toggle on print on forms(if wanted)and save. Then on the sales form there will be a box for that field for example project and you can manually write in the address. (It does have a word count)
We appreciate it is not an auto address pre fill like the shipping box we just wanted to provide an alternative in a step by step format for any users we may wish to use it.
This is very frustrating and not a good work around, if it can't auto populate then it would be just as easy to type in the installation address in the description on the invoice and skip all of this custom field area.
The question that has never been answered is: Why are you unable to make a dead simple programming change?
Hi there. Let's work together to figure out the cause of the issue and resolve it immediately.
To clarify, may I know what QBO version you're using? Adding Custom fields is only available for users who subscribe to QBO Essentials, Plus, and Advanced. You can verify it by performing these steps:
If confirmed that you're using either of the version mentioned above, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to determine if this is a browser-related issue. Let's start with accessing your account via incognito mode. This will provide you with a clean slate to prevent odd behaviours when running websites. Below are the shortcut keys you can use:
When signed in, create a custom field again. Here's how:
It's also easy to modify your sales forms template to add the details that are suitable to your business.
I'm always here ready to lend a hand if you have other concerns managing your invoice forms. Please don't hesitate to leave a reply below. Have a good one and stay safe.
Yes. You're quite right. I'm on a 'simple start' plan. I've paid no attention to this. I'm a sole trader and I have simple requirements. Although I thought I was on an annual subscription I am in fact on a monthly one, but I see that if I change to annual billing you are in any case wanting to charge me the same amount (no discount).
I don't wish to double the amount I'm paying (by upgrading) just because you can't make a very very simple change to your system. From my perspective I'm already a paying customer. I don't need additional functionality.
Let me know what you're able to do??
Quickbooks Online Sucks. I should be able to change "Ship To" to "Service Site". I don't ship anything! I'm so pissed that Intuit is forcing this change from Desktop. Boo Boo Boo!!!
