Is there no way or marking an invoice as sent without emailing it? Or creating a PDF without an email being stored? Many of my clients use portals, and I need an invoice to upload but absolutely not to email

Hello there, @rradfordsli-yaho.

 

Let me share some information on how your invoices are manage in QuickBooks Self-Employed. 

 

Currently, QuickBooks Self-Employed invoice feature is simplified version. The ability to save the invoice without sending it is not available. However, you can create a dummy email address then use it to all of your customers' invoices.

 

Once completed, you can export the invoice as a PDF file. 

 

From here, you can upload it to your customer's portal. You can read through this article to help you manage your invoices: Create invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Yes, I've seen posts about a workaround. I don't understand why, several years after this has been brought to your attention, there isn't an option to save an invoice without an email, and then a drop down option to mark as sent. It's not complicated!

What an absolute shambles! "here is a cheating workaround our system that you look like you have filled out an invoice wrong to a customer"

Quickbooks - you are absolutely useless!
