Hi mtaylorwindowsan, thanks for joining us here on the Community
If you're using QuickBooks Simple Start, you won't have the option to enter bills, so you'd need to record any purchases using an expense transaction (+ New > Expense).
If you'll be needing this function, you may wish to consider upgrading to our next plan, Essentials, as this will allow you to record an unlimited number of bills. You can see our full comparison guide here as well as the steps for upgrading - no data will be lost during this process. :)

Keep in mind, the discounted rate is not applicable when upgrading/downgrading your plan. You may open a new blank QBO account with the same email address.
The last few years I have been writing a check and adding bills
and now last 2 weeks I haven’t been able to write a check and add bills help I tried to use the bill pay method but I can’t because it won’t let me use the credits because the bills are over 101 items ? How do I fix this
I appreciate your time posting here in the Community, @Jamie19.
You can pay bills from one page at a time, try filtering first. You can only apply 50 items on one page, you need to filter it first before you continue.
I know the importance of having a built-in feature like this to further help you and your business. That said, I encourage you to submit feedback to our product developers to request the implementation of this attribute in the future. Here's how:
You can also visit our Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online website to track the suggestion you've submitted.
Furthermore, you can visit this page to learn and have an overview of the product that entails tutorials and articles in QBO.
If there's anything else you need or questions about managing bills and expense transactions in QBO, I'm always ready to help. Take care, and have a great day!
