I'm getting really frustrated trying to import a CSV that I've checked dozens of times for mistakes.
I am using the 4 column format, Date, Description, Credit, Debit and it still isn't working. I just get
"Error Importing" every time. I've read the online help files and it all has conflicting information about what the cells should contain. The article is saying remove all zeros in blank spaces, then the help video in the article says to add zeros.
I've removed all numbers and special characters from the description column, checked all the debit and credit sections and they seem fine. Date format is DD/MM/YYYY. File format is CSV. Why won't it import?
This is how it looks (there are 400 other entries, I'm just showing 4 as an example)
Please help me
Thanks
We hear you, @marco-py1.
Importing bank transactions via CSV file in QuickBooks Self Employed (QBSE) is challenging on your end. No worries, I'll provide a solution so you can continue working on your daily business routines.
Before that, we'd like to thank you for reviewing your CSV format to ensure that you missed nothing and followed the correct one.
However, please know that QBSE only uses a single-entry accounting method. With that in mind, the column only consists of the Date, Description, and Amount.
If you follow this format and the same issue happens, let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix this. We can start by accessing your QBSE account in a private/incognito browsing window. This will identify if it's a browser-related concern because cache and cookies won't be saved here.
Feel free to utilize these shortcut keys:
From there, import the CSV file again. Once it works well, go back to your default browser. Then, initiate a clear cache to get rid of the outdated files. If the issue persists, we can use another supported browser. This happens if the one you're currently working on has a temporary issue with QuickBooks.
If you want to learn to place transactions into the correct accounts after importing, you can read this article: Categorise transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
I'll be here to continue helping if you have any other concerns about importing transactions or data using CSV files in QBSE. Thank you, and have a good one.
