Why, when publishing CIS Invoices from Dext Prepare, does QuickBooks not detect the amount of CIS deducted? Why must it be entered manually in QBs after publishing?

Hello James, is Dext pPrepare a third party app you are connecting with QuickBooks? If so how is it entered in the app? Is it manual set up in the app the boxes for the invoices?

Hi Emma,

Yes Dext Prepare is a third party app. It reads elements of invoices to make bookkeeping easier. However, when used with Xero Xero will calculate the CIS deducted on the invoice, whereas, with QuickBooks it will post the invoice to QuickBooks without any CIS deductions, where it has to be entered manually.

Would my question be better directed at a Dext Prepare forum?

Hello James-stevenburt, yes you would need to speak to Dext so see why they post it like that into Quickbooks as we dont deal with how 3rd partys work. So you are best of speaking to them directly to see what is going on.
