Hello hollygilbert9,
Could you please go to the cog wheel, custom form styles and then edit the template you are using? Click content and then select the middle section of the invoice. Click 'edit labels and widths' and then make sure the description column is as wide as you can get it. Once you have done this, preview your invoice again and let us know if the description now displays correctly.
Thanks,
Talia
no tried that only columns shown is description and amount, cannot get the columns to expand as you can in excel. Looks fine on the screen but when printing it prints downwards
Hello,
Could you please send us a screenshot of this?
Thanks,
Talia
Hello,
Could you please also send us a screenshot of the 'edit labels and widths' screen within custom form styles?
Thanks,
Talia
not sure how to do a screen shot you asked for
Hello,
Are you using a Windows or Apple device?
Thanks,
Talia
Hello,
You can take a screenshot by pressing the print screen button on your keyboard - this is usually displayed as PrtScn
Thanks,
Talia
yes i have done that and sent it to you. I thought it was something to be done through quick books not the old fashioned way!
Hello,
After pressing the print screen button, all you will need to do is paste the image into your reply, rather than having to print the screen :)
Thanks,
Talia
did you get the picture i sent across
Hello,
I did, however it didn't look like the screen was showing correctly. Is that how it displays on your side? If so, which browser are you using?
Thanks,
ok sussed it out. If you hit the edit column width bit there appears a slider on the description bit so I slid that across, it is not easy to see how to do it though.
Many thanks
Ah good! This usually doesn't display correctly if you are not using Google Chrome as your browser.
Thanks,
Talia
all I need to do is to try and get a few more lines between my address at the top of the invoice and the customer address. If you hit the top pen it does not seem to be able to expand this box at all
Hello,
There is no option to alter the space between the address boxes. If you are not happy with the templates QuickBooks provides, you can create your own template and import it. Please find attached an article on how to do this here.
Thanks,
Talia
