Hello Rattlesdencommun,
Welcome to the Community page,
So VAT isn't included in the P&L report as it is a liability. Once an FRS period has been filed the difference between the FRS amount and what the VAT would have been if not on FRS is posted to the Savings by FRS income account which shows on the P&L, but that is only for filed periods, there is no report to show that for an open VAT period in QuickBooks Online. You can leave this as feedback within the main cog wheel, this then gets sent straight to the developers team.
Thank you but this doesn't deal with the main issue. On FRS the VAT on goods/services we buy is not a liability but an expense as can't reclaim. When accounts/reports are run that expense has to be included in full and correctly allocated to the appropriate expense account otherwise everything will be inaccurate. I can deal with it by entering all expenses and bills as being 0% VAT but that makes the VAT return inaccurate as HMRC wants the figures for supplies net of VAT. This is a problem for me. A solution such as being able to choose to run a report that reports on the VAT inclusive expenses is what I need. I can't believe other QB users on FRS haven't experienced this. Feeback gratefully received, .
