Hi there, Ken-kcamarketing.
The nature of your concern requires an expert advise. That said, I suggest you reach to an accounting professional on how to claim back the VAT from capital purchases from the past 4 years. They can share their expertise on how to handle this type of situation.

As a mathematician, I do not want to consult an accountant unless I have to. I know that I can claim back the VAT, but I need to know how to make the entries into quickbooks to enable me to do it. Do i ;put in the purchases made before my VAT registration, in which case will my VAT return include them?
If it doesn't, how do I alter the VAT return before submitting it?
