Hello colingibbons,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the QuickBooks Online Community.
It is not possible to submit a CIS return directly through QuickBooks, instead you would need to run the report and enter the information manually on the government website. No payment will be automatically created for this in QuickBooks, you would need to record the expense manually or add the direct debit directly in from the Banking screen if you have this connected.
Thanks
There is an option to sumit your cis return from quickbooks direct to hmrc like payroll but it keeps saying rejected and I get a email from hmrc saying , gateway automatic error notification the form was recieved but could not be accepted as it failed hmrc data checks ?
Hi kbriddon,
Thanks for joining this thread, you're right that you can now submit this return directly to HMRC from QuickBooks. :raising_hands:
Usually, the failed checks relate to missing or incorrect information within your CIS profile (Cog > Accounts & settings > Advanced > CIS > Check all fields here are completed correctly).
If these are correct, please check that all subcontracts who are included on the submission you're trying to make have correct UTR numbers entered (these should be formatted without spaces) - to see the subcontractor info select Expenses > Search and select subcontractor > Edit.
Please get back to us if you're continuing to have issues after checking this!

All my Cis information is correct in the advanced section in accounts and settings
thanks
Thanks for getting back to us and checking that kbriddon, were you also able to verify that each subcontractor has the correct UTR number and NINO within their settings?
