We need to raise job cards or job sheets to give to the workshop showing details of the job they need to carry out etc. Does anybody know how this can be done?
If you are running a manufacturing company or workshop, you should have a 3rd party app to integrate with QBO.

Hello EmmaV1, thanks for posting on the Community page, there is not really a away to do this in QuickBooks, you could see if there is a third party app that linked into QuickBooks that does this.

The suggested app is a bit too complex for our needs.
We just require a simple job card to distribute to the workshop.
We previously used QuickBooks desktop and was able to use the sales receipt template, customise it and call it a job sheet. This would enable us to link the job sheet to the job and all relevant information would be on it.
This isn't possible on QuickBooks online and it has very limited customisation options.
At present we are producing job sheets using excel bit having to copy and paste information onto each sheet from each job raised in QuickBooks online. Very tedious.
We don't need anything complicated just a simple job card or job sheet. I don't understand why this isn't available within QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks online is not living up to QuickBooks Desktop. It's such a shame Desktop is being discontinued.

I see how it would be very beneficial to have the Job Card feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @julz225.

I agree with what @Fiat Lux - ASIA recommended to look for a third-party application that can integrate with QBO that has the feature you need.
Another way around this is to go to your QBO account, choose Apps in the left panel, and on the Search field, enter a brief description of the app you want, then click enter on your keyboard.

I've been looking through the 3rd party apps and not found a suitable one yet and wondered if anyone had an suggestions that are worth a look.
I haven't found anything suitable yet - here's hoping some clever person will create an app for us!!
This and the lack of documentation customisation options has turned into a bit of a deal breaker for us and looks like we'll be switching from QB to Sage.
I can understand why, we were in too deep before realising things weren't good so it would have been yet another massive upheaval for us to switch to Sage. We're just sticking with it for now and hoping that QB improves.

We're having to create our own job sheets / job cards in excel at the moment. It's a pain.
So, I recently discovered that the quickbooks Time app has a schedule which can be used as a basic job card. Your employees hours and time are primarily tracked by this app via gps location etc. but you can programme the schedule. Which Client to visit at what time, add a location or address, and attach a note. I drop my bill of materials into the note section so they know what materials are needed to be packed for the days jobs. Not sure if this will help but its working for me.
