Quickbooks Pro 2016 Desktop and VAT

Hello,

Can anyone (please) possibly explain why the Boxes 6 and 7 of VAT 100 Reports over 2 successive (1st & 2nd) quarters seem to be accumulating.  By the time I generate the 4th quarter VAT 100 the Boxes appear to have accumulated the complete financial year instead of the amounts relevant to the quarter.

My operations do not vary much month-to-month, so I expect the amounts in the Boxes 6 and 7 from one quarter to the next to be quite similar.

Attached for comparison are the reports for March to May 2019, and June to August 2019.

Thanks for you help.

Hello Nayoung,

The way in which to change the VAT reporting period dates to Quarterly is by going to the Supplier centre,  search for HMRC VAT. double click on the supplier name which then brings up options. There will be a tab called VAT settings which shows the below

There is a drop-down on the right side you can set to change it to qaurterly there.

Hello Nayoung, Thanks for reaching out to the Community with your question. We have had a look at the attachment you've sent can we confirm March to  May 2019, and June to August 2019 have both those periods been filed through the QuickBooks Desktop. In the  VAT 100 report does it show the 868 amount at the very top with a warning triangle next to it? Thanks:smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hello EmmaM,

Many thanks for your quick response.

I confirm that both VAT 100 Reports March to May 2019 and June to August 2019, were printed directly from the QB using the ‘Print Button’. The data in the pdf is exact copy of the information on my computer screen. I can send ‘screen prints’ if that would be more helpful.

With regards the In the VAT 100 report (March to May 2019), the amount 868 only shows in the Box 5 position. It does not show anywhere else. There is no warning triangle anywhere on the report (on my computer screen).

Thanks very much for your reply Nayoung, from your response, we can't see why this would be happening, what we need to do is a screen share however we can't access that option in the Community. If we can ask you to give our desktop team a call on 0808 168 9535 and we'll look at this in detail.Thank you

Hi Emma,

Just phoned 0808 168 9535 who says QB Pro 2016 Desktop is now unsupported!

Could you tell me:

1)  How to change the VAT Reporting period dates to quarterly, as I suspect it is set up to one annual (end of year) filing, hence the amounts in Box 4 are accumulating towards this.  I make quarterly filings.

The Box 4 amount is "carrying over" from one VAT Quarterly period to the next?
