VAT reports

When filing VAT, it can take up to 10 minutes for QB (Online) to load historical VAT filing reports going back to 2017.  Is there a way I can load only the most recent reports?

VAT reports

Hi Axxell,

Hope you still had a great morning despite of having a slow loading VAT page. Let me help you on this.

We are unable to obtain only the latest reports for VAT. Ten minutes is quite long. Even if you have old records, it's not a reason to take time to load your tax data. This instance can happen if your internet speed is slow or there are browser issues. I'll guide you with some steps to determine the cause of this behavior.

It is recommended that your internet connection be at least 3 Mbps, and that your computer meets the other system requirements to avoid loading issues. If the requirements are met, we can perform basic browser troubleshooting steps to check if the behavior is caused by cached data.

To start, you'll want to sign in to QuickBooks using a private browser. In this mode, the QuickBooks pages will load up without reusing the data from the browser's cache. You can use the following key combinations, depending on your browser.

  • Press Ctrl Shift + P for Edge or Firefox.
  • Press Ctrl Shift N for Chrome.
  • Hold down Command Shift N for Safari.

If the VAT section loads up smoothly while browsing privately, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If not, please use a different browser to isolate the issue.

Let me know if how the steps work for you, so I can help you further if there's a need to. Have a good one.

Thank Jess,

My Internet connection is 30-40 Mb/s and all other QB online functions are reasonably responsive.

I use Chrome (always at current version) by default and clearing the cache made no difference.  The problem occurs just the same using Edge.

However, I discovered that, in both Chrome and Edge, if I navigate away from the QB Online tab (even just momentarily) when I return to the QB tab, the reports have all loaded.

While this workaround will save me a lot of wasted time and frustration, I really would appreciate a proper fix.

Thanks in advance for your help.
