Hello Community Users! In the instance where you are signed up for MTD and you have had the email confirming that from HMRC and you have connected MTD in Quickbooks but are getting rejected. We'd recommend trying the following.
*Logging on to the HMRC gateway and checking the dates on the return they are expecting match the dates in Quickbooks.
*Making sure the Gateway email is the right one for MTD and matches the one it is being filed under
*check the VAT registration number is correct.
We have a comprehensive article here to help you. Any questions just ask on this thread. We'd be happy to get you a resolution.
Hello, Geetika Khanna.
There’s a possibility that QuickBooks is not yet authorize to interact with HMRC that’s why you’re unable to process efile. To activate this authorization, please refer to this article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Making-Tax-Digital/Authorise-QuickBooks-to-interact-with-HMR...
I also have an article here that might help you along the way: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Making-Tax-Digital/Submit-a-VAT-return-to-HMRC-MTD-for-small...
Please don’t hesitate to reach us again if you have other questions.
Hi Miki
I have done all the steps required to file return but still my return got rejected. Please see below the rejection message.
"HMRC has rejected your VAT return. This could be because you signed up for Making Tax Digital with HMRC but haven't yet enabled it in QuickBooks. "
Tomorrow is last date for filing return.
I contacted support but so far no solution provided from them.
7th May is the last day to file the return.
Can you please help me?
Hi Geetika Khanna,
Since you've already followed the steps in the article, I'd recommend contacting our phone team again. They can do a screen-sharing session to see your setup and investigate this further. In that way, you'll be able to submit your return on time.
If there's anything we can help, you can always reply on this thread.
