Introducing early access to a new QuickBooks Online interface

Earlier this month, we announced the next evolution of QuickBooks Online — a redesigned interface built to simplify workflows, deliver smarter navigation, and offer powerful new tools to help accountants and bookkeepers save time while supporting their clients.

You and your clients can soon opt-in for early access to experience this exciting update. During this phase, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the refreshed platform while continuing to rely on the workflows you know and trust.

Early access is your chance to get familiar with the new layout and tools, so you’re ready to guide your clients through the transition and make the most out of upcoming innovations.

What’s included in early access?

Early access introduces the first phase of exciting updates coming to QuickBooks Online.

Here’s what you’ll experience:

• Smarter design: Essential tools work together with a redesigned layout, so you and your clients can stay organised and ready for anything.
• Streamlined navigation: A simplified menu organises your clients’ bookkeeping, finances, and customer management tools under apps for faster task completion.
• Connected tools*: Your clients’ third-party apps, like Payroll and Payments, will continue to integrate reliably into the platform, with more features and deeper connections coming soon—all in one place.
• Customisation for focus: Tailor the dashboard and navigation to work the way you do.
• Enhanced search: Quickly locate transactions, contacts, accounts, and reports with faster search capabilities and custom filters.
• Quick access: Bookmark frequent actions and key tools for effortless efficiency.

These updates lay the foundation for even greater innovations, including AI-powered agents set to roll out later this year.

How early access works

Early access to the redesigned QuickBooks Online interface is rolling out gradually to new and existing customers over the next few months.

• Automatic participation: Some customers and Advisors will be automatically transitioned to the new experience.
• Manual opt-in: Other customers, and you as their Advisor, will have the option to manually opt in via the settings gear icon in QuickBooks Online. Once activated, you’ll see the updated interface when accessing their accounts.

Early access is available for customers on Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, and Advanced plans. Workflows and features will remain the same, providing you with a seamless transition while gaining access to this improved interface.

As a trusted Advisor, your practice can be among the first to experience this exciting update. This will allow you to prepare your workflows and guide your clients through the transition with confidence. 

Should you or your clients need to revert to the previous design, you can switch back easily via the settings gear icon.

• Default rollout begins in November 2025: QuickBooks Online’s new interface and AI-powered features will become the default experience for new and existing customers, on a rolling basis throughout 2026.

• Your feedback matters: During early access, you can share your thoughts directly with us by clicking the gear icon and selecting “Feedback.”
