Trying to save time I subscribed to MilesIQ as it showed as a milage tracker import option in QBSE UK. The app drives information is clear and accurate and it looked like a good idea.
I have since discovered that MileIQ does not have an export as CVS format option in their UK version of the app and there is no information on how to convert a downloaded XLS file to a QBSE acceptable CVS format.
Searching through questions and answers I still don't know how to import from MileIQ to QBSE UK - I have tried a workaround but just get an error message.
I can import banking information so understand how to edit XLS and save as CVS and then import into QBSE transactions in four column layout.
Please can you advise on how to do this with MileIQ as the information isn't easily found on this site.
Thanks!
Hello, gardener2012.
I'd like to share some information about your situation.
If MileIQ does not let you export a CVS format, you'll want to search for a third-party app that can help convert the XLS file.
Once the file is converted to a CSV file, you can follow these steps to import:
Otherwise, manually add the trips. The steps are included in this article: Manually track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed
I'm also adding these article to learn more about Mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed:

Thanks for your reply - I found the QB mileage tracker not so good and ended up having to manually adjust every drive even with the tips on making it more accurate. MileIQ is clearer in the reports but I can't import them into the mileage section of QBSE.
I have been able to convert the MileIQ XLS file to CSV format but QBSE UK sends back an error message, I have tried the workaround using incognito mode and still cannot import the file.
I saw somewhere in the community that the CSV file to import to 'Mileage' has to have a specific QBSE format (like the 3/4 column bank files??) Is there some kind of template? Please can you advise on this.
Thanks for your reply, gardener2012.
To verify, what is the exact error message did you encounter when you try to import the file? In the meantime, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.
A corrupted browser's cache might be preventing you from uploading the CSV file. Let's use an incognito window or private browser to upload your file to confirm this.
Here are the shortcut keys:
Then, sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account and go Miles tab. If you can import the file from MileIQ with no problems, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing cache fixes certain problems, like loading or formatting issues on sites. It also helps pages to load faster.
Once done, restart your browser to update the settings. In addition, you can use a different supported browser.
Please let me know how it goes. I'll be right here to help you out again. Take care!
