"How do I add my accountant? I can't see the "profile icon" or "add accountant.""

Hello Community Users, we wanted to add an update to this thread. Previously adding an accountant user to the UK Self Employed product was not available to all Self-Employed users however this has changed. To add an accountant just go to the settings  in the top right and you should see> accountant>invite your accountant and you can add your accountants email address to invite them.

If you do not see that option please reply here and we'll investigate into it and go through the resolution with you.

Let me share some information about adding your accountant to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE account, hollyheath132

 

The option to add an accountant to your QBSE account is only available in the US version. To add your accountant, you can sign up for QuickBooks Online (QBO) to review your accounting. You'll need to import your data and switch your subscription. See the Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online article for the steps and details. Once you're on QBO, here's how to invite an accountant:

  1. Sign in to QBO as a master admin.
  2. Go to the Gear icon on the top menu
  3. Select Manage users.
  4. Choose the Accounting firms tab.
  5. Click Invite.
  6. Enter your accountant's info and press Save.

Then, QuickBooks emails an invite to your accountant. The email has steps for how to connect your accounts. Hi there is no option to add my accountant on the app iv downloaded can you please help, iv tried looking for the options recommended and I don’t have that option.

Hi there. I can shed some light on why you don't have the option of inviting your accountant to QuickBooks Self-employed (QBSE). Let me help you understand this matter.


Typically, you should have the option to add your accountant in the QBSE app. However, if that option is missing for you, your QBSE subscription may be billed through the Google Play Store or Apple Store. In such cases, you may not have the ability to add an accountant.


With this, you can contact our support team for assistance in migrating the billing to allow you to add your accountant. Our support team can effectively help you achieve your goal.
Here's how to contact them:
 

  1. In your QBSE, click Help and choose Contact Us. For the app, tap the + button and select Ask QB Assistant.
  2. Put "talk to a human" and hit Continue.
  3. Decide a way you want to be assisted:
  • Have us call you - Get a contact from our support.
  • Chat with us - Have a conversation with our support.

 

 

However, if your subscription is not billed through the Google Play Store or Apple Store, using a supported web browser is recommended. You might not see the option in your app due to some issues. To avoid any problems, you can use QBSE with your supported web browsers.
