Hello,
I have this prompt message when I opened my Quickbooks Desktop version 17. I think this is because the product expiry mentioned in the information will be on September 1st. We already have the latest version, but I am wondering if we I can still keep the 2017 version?
Thank you.
Hello there, @Karenjayeah.
Let me share some insights about the QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation.
The older versions of QuickBooks Desktop are scheduled to be discontinued. This means that all versions of QuickBooks Desktop 2017 (Pro, Premier, Enterprise Solutions, Accountant Edition, and Mac) will no longer have access to add-on services.

Hi @GraceC.,
For the service continuation does this mean that I will not be able to access the Qbooks 17 at all, or I can still access the company file in it but there will be no more option to update any additional services?
Thank you so much.
Hello Karenjayeah,
Thanks for coming back to us,
If you have the latest version say 2020 then you will have a live subscription. If you have a live subscription 2017 it shouldn't be expiring.
In order to check your account, we would need your licence number or customer number.
Which you could send to us in a private message on Facebook or a direct message on twitter.
Hi @Ashleigh1 ,
Thank you so much for your prompt response. I will DM via Twitter. May I have your Twitter account name?
Thanks Karenjayeah, you can reach us on Twitter by searching our handle @QuickBooksUK :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Hi @Ashleigh1 and @GeorgiaC ,
Thank you so much for all the help. I did not reach out on Twitter but we do have a 2020 version of Quickbooks and we're only using the 2017 version to maintain an old company file. In this case, is it safe to just ignore the message?
Thank you so much.
Cheers,
