Bank connectivity issues with HSBC

My Quickbooks self-employed account seems very confused. It keeps asking me to renew my consent, but then when I click on the button it disappears. In the meantime, my QB account still seemed like it was receiving my account data, as though it was connected...how do I stop it from coming up with this message? When I go into 'Manage bank consent' it doesn't show my HSBC account but my Starling account seem fine.

Also, when a connection has lapsed, and I've had to add the bank account again, it brings in all the transactions as duplicates that I've still logged as personal or business. Is there a way to stop doing this? Ie. recognise all the existing data and not duplicate it? How do I avoid this?

Bank connectivity issues with HSBC

Let's get this bank connectivity issue sorted out, Cp011.

I've checked our records and haven't found any investigations related to your concern. To assist you in addressing the problem of renewing your bank connection, I will suggest some typical solutions. It's possible that your bank is currently undergoing system maintenance. To verify this, please log in to your online banking portal and check for any notifications that require your attention. Additionally, consider reaching out to your bank to confirm the accuracy of your login credentials.

In addition, you may consider logging in to QuickBooks Online in an incognito browsing mode or other privately supported browsers. This may be a cache issue that prevents you from logging in to your online banking account to link it to QuickBooks. From there, you can renew your bank connection and be able to categorise or match transactions.

Furthermore, we can eliminate duplicate transactions, which will result in their removal from the Banking page and ensure the accuracy of your financial records.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Click the Banking tab.
  3. Select the transactions you want to exclude.
  4. Tap the Exclude tab at the top.

You can check this article for more information: Exclude a bank transaction you downloaded into QuickBooks Online.
