Bank not registering payments

I signed up to quick books for one reason only, the idea was I would invoice people they would pay and I can then just look at end of week to see who has paid and who hasn’t, I sent a number of invoices yesterday to customers, a number of them viewed the invoice (which isn’t showing on invoice status) one customer paid via bank transfer which again wasn’t linked, i in turn sent an email saying I need paying for him to say I have, why didn’t quickbooks link them together, he paid via bank transfer Am I right in learning now that I will need to check it all the time if so I find it pointless

Bank not registering payments

Thank you for choosing QuickBooks, @Insightus.

I understand the importance of being able to see the status of the invoices in QuickBooks Online as well as linking payment to an invoice automatically. As of now, we need to record a payment transaction to mark an invoice as paid or closed. Additionally, we have to open the invoice to review if it's viewed or not.

To record an invoice payment:

  1. Click on Receive Payment under Customers from the New (+) icon.d8 1.PNG
  2. Select the customer's name, then look for the outstanding invoice/s under the Outstanding Transactions section.d8 2.PNG
  3. Record the transaction.

To view the status of your invoices, open each invoice, then scroll down to the Activities section.d8 3.PNG
