I understand the importance of being able to see the status of the invoices in QuickBooks Online as well as linking payment to an invoice automatically. As of now, we need to record a payment transaction to mark an invoice as paid or closed. Additionally, we have to open the invoice to review if it's viewed or not.
To record an invoice payment:
- Click on Receive Payment under Customers from the New (+) icon.
- Select the customer's name, then look for the outstanding invoice/s under the Outstanding Transactions section.
- Record the transaction.
To view the status of your invoices, open each invoice, then scroll down to the Activities section.
