banking update

Hi, I regularly have problems with banking which doesn't update. Right now it hasn't updated since a week. Quickbooks is telling me to clear cache and cookies, which I have done and still it doesn't update. I have also signed in using another browser, Firefox. They tell me to use google Chrome, but I don't want to. I work on a Macbook and Iphone and prefer Safari.

Does anyone have similar problems?

Hi SP2.

 

Thanks for getting in touch via the Community. I can certainly see how this would be a pain if your bank connection isn't updating especially combining this with multiple suggestions that haven't been successful so hopefully I can help.

 

Occasionally if banks have large updates or Security updates in the background, they try to do this in such a way that minimises problems for user accessing their own website however things become more tricky for third part connection such as QuickBooks can suffer connection issues such as the ones you describe. Usually when this update has been completed our Banking engineers will take action to get these connections back up and running. Sometimes this can take a little bit of time to resolve. As you haven't mentioned which bank it is you've been having the issue with, I will give some general advice.

 

While the advice you have already been given about clearing the cache and cookies is recommended (This is to clear any record of the potentially damaged connection) we would also recommend completely updating the Sign in Info on the banking page. To do this if you click in the the Banking page on your QuickBooks, in the top right of the banking box there will be a Pen Icon, if you click on this and select 'Edit Sign info' you will prompted to enter your bank details again. This will essentially reset the banking connection and hopefully resolve the issue.

 

Also regarding the Internet Browser, don't worry too much about which one you are using for your general purposes. We Recommend Google Chrome as it is the most compatible with QuickBooks and is the browser around which the Online product was designed but you should still be fine using Safari however. We always recommend clearing cache and cookies and changing the itnernet browser as basic troubleshooting to see if the issue is related to the browser that is being used.

What bank are you using? 

 

I would recommend using Google Chrome and also trying Google Chromes Ingognito window?
