Connected Bank Accounts Not Showing

Hi

On QBSE my 3 conneceted bank accounts have stopped being visible when you go to view them and refresh.

The entries are correctly being imported but the bank names and accounts and balances are not showing, just the message 'something unexpected happened. try again.'

Any thoughts?

Connected Bank Accounts Not Showing

Hello there, @thecartoonman.

We can do some browser troubleshooting to fix the error you're getting when trying to view connected bank accounts.

We'll need to access your account on a private browser first. It is a good idea to utilize a private browser for any strange software activity because it does not record any activities.

Here are keyboard shortcuts you can use depending on the browser you're using:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Internet Explorer: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If you can view your bank accounts without experiencing any issues, switch back to your default browser and clear the cache there. It will delete temporary internet files, clear the cache, and the application should work.

Here's how:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Click More.
  3. Choose More Tools, then Clear browsing data.
  4. Add a time range. Select All time to delete everything.
  5. Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
  6. Select Clear data.

I'm also adding this article that you can use as a reference to open Banking connection errors in QuickBooks Online.

Connected Bank Accounts Not Showing

Hi

No luck and tried on 2 different browsers>

I think there is a bug somewhere, it worked fine until we had a big design update a few weeks ago, then I lost my connected PayPal accounts but the 3 bank accounts could be seen, then they have now disappeared.

As I said, the entries are coming through it's just the bank accounts and balances do not appear in the Bank Accounts section.

I'm here to provide some information about connected bank accounts, thecartoonman.

There's an ongoing issue when accessing the manage accounts in the transaction tab. Our engineers are working to get this fixed as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I suggest reaching out to our support team so they can add you as one of the affected users on the list. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help(?) icon.
  2. Select Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.
  3. Type in your concern in the What can we help you with? field and then select, Continue.
  4. On the next screen, scroll down to How would you like to connect with us section.
  5. Choose your contact option to initiate a discussion with a live agent.

Tried Support and they wanted to go through a lengthy account review, if it's a known issue I will wait for it to be sorted, in the meantime, perhaps you can add me to the list of affected accounts.

This has been going on for 2+ weeks, surely this is a priority that should be sorted in hours??

How many accounts are affected, it must be system wide??

Connected Bank Accounts Not Showing

Hi

Do we have any further updates. Frankly, it's hopeless the connected bank accounts do not show, what happens when we have to re-connect?

If it's a known issue why is it taking so long to resolve?

I appreciate you getting back to us asking for some updates, @thecartoonman. I’m here to share some regarding the issue you’re experiencing.

As mentioned above, the issue about missing bank connections has been reported. I’ve checked our resources and verified that it’s still in progress. Please know that we’re unable to give a specific time or date range as to when this will be fixed. Rest assured that our engineering team is prioritizing this among others.

If you re-connect the bank, you’ll encounter the same error message. It’s also possible that you’ll get duplicate transactions or bank connections.

Once this issue is settled, see this article to learn how to organize your transactions from the bank: Categorize and edit transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Feel free to check out this guide about Schedule C categories: Schedule C and expense categories in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please know that I'm always around here in the Community to help. Keep safe, and have a good one.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, certainly do not want to re-connect as this will create duplicate transactions, which is a nightmare to unpick.

I shall sit and wait then, at least it is still importing all the day to day transactions even if I cannot see the connected accounts, go figure that!

Best regards.

Yes same problem with me too. QBSE 19th Jan 2023. It all seems to be working, but on the manage accounts page only the bank shows. Paypal and Etsy do not show. I chatted to tech support, who clearly don't speak English as their first language and have seemingly never used quickbooks SE. They said there was no error at their end, and gave me all the above about cut and pasted reply about trying different browsers (despite telling them I've tried several, cleared caches, and used the app). So this thread suggests that there is definitely some problem at their end. Lack of English being the first one.

It's hopeless and the support is useless. Reported this last year, then was advised it had been resolved, no it's not. Started a lengthy chat where it was obvious it was beyond the scope of the advisor to resolve, so pass it up the line and get it resolved, quickly. This all started following a major site update last year, it works on the app but not on my computer, my concern is when you have to reconnect your bank accounts that has to be done on your computer not the app. Maybe it's time to look elsewhere? How long does it take to resolve an issue such as this, hours, not weeks.

Connected Bank Accounts Not Showing

Hello Community users, we wanted to pop in and update this thread. The issue with connected accounts not showing was investigated by our banking engineers and closed in February as working as designed. It was found that this was expected behavior and  that this error occurs because "Consent data may not available for at least one of the provider connected by the user in call response." To resolve this you would need to check with your bank providers and reinstate consent on the impacted ones.

Any questions feel free to ask them here.
