Hello J-Drew,
Metro bank is now on open banking and you will be able to connect to it in your Quickbooks account, you will no longer need to CSV your transaction into your account anymore.
Hi
Thanks for the response.
The email i got from QB about MetroBank Open Banking said
We’ve been updating our bank connections to comply with Open Banking regulations. A new connection is now available for your bank.
To start seeing updated transactions, sign into QuickBooks and refresh your Banking screen.
So i did that and 0 of 1 accounts updates and the only option i have is to use a CSV upload.
There is no 'upgrade now' link in the banner (as suggested by the QB YouTube video), it just doesn't work.
As there are two types of MetroBank Business account (a personal type and a more expensive version) I am wondering if any QB users with the 'Personal' type of business account have managed to get automatic updates working again and if so how?
cheers
J
Hello J-Drew,
Do you have a self-employed account or a small business account with Quickbooks?
Hi
Not too sure where i would check, however its as always been a limited company QB account that provides all the necessary features for a Ltd company. Including the automatic updates for metrobank - which used to work till it was turned off as part of the Open Banking upgrades.
Thanks
J
Hello again, j-drew.
The email you've received is a confirmation that some of your bank accounts are now ready for an upgrade for the new Open Banking connection. Upon clicking the Update my account button, you'll be routed to the Banking page.
From there, you'd see a banner Upgrade now on each bank account. Currently, the Metro bank has not been available on the new open banking as there is no available feed yet for this. The new connections for these bank feeds in these instances are now turned off, in compliance with Open Banking regulations. We are working closely with banks and financial institutions right now to provide Open Banking connections for as many banking products as possible
Additionally, to learn more about Open Banking connection see this article: Open Banking Connection Errors.

Hi
Okay, so can i just confirm my understanding of the solution as you have presented it?
You mentioned that the email refers to other accounts ... even though the email clearly only mentions Metro Bank and i only have one bank account attached to QB which is Metro Bank..
You mentioned that Metro Bank is not supported, yet the email said Metro Bank was supported and Metro Bank Open Banking status is listed as 'available now' on the QB website.
I can continue with the CSV uploads but given the statements made in this post are contradictory to the 'available now' statement of QB's assessment of MetroBanks compliance with OpenBanking and QB automatic fees... i am a tad confused and thus checking if my understanding is correct.
If there is a date that MetroBank connections will be compliant (and i can go through the update process) then that would be useful to know if its available.
thanks
James
