Old back account

I have a new bank account which I have linked, and I want to unlink the old bank account but keep all my historic transactions.

I read that I should toggle the ‘show account’ or ‘show bank’ to OFF that way the old transactions are still there but it stops downloading new ones, but I don’t have this ‘show account or ‘show bank’ toggle option, I can’t find it anywhere. The only options I have it unlink the bank account which I don’t want to do as I will lose my historic transactions, can anyone help?

Old back account

I'm here to help you disconnect your account and keep the old transactions, @Ben1991.

I'll show you how to disconnect your accounts but keep the transactions, or just hide them to clean up your books. It will stop downloading new transactions and keep the existing data.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Open QuickBooks Self-Employed in a web browser.
  2. Select the profile ⚙ icon and then Bank Accounts.
  3. Find the account you want to hide.
  4. In the Show Account section, select the toggle to OFF.

If you want to reactivate the account repeat the steps and select ON.

You an now proceed to delete the account.

Here's how:

  1. Select the profile ⚙ icon and then Bank Accounts.
  2. Find the account you want to delete.
  3. Select the trash icon in that section.
  4. Type “DELETE” and select Delete to confirm.

If you have followed the steps and still can't see the buttons to toggle, you can perform basic troubleshooting steps. Your browser's cache stores data and can cause trouble in the long run.You can start with using a private browser before clearing its cache.

Here are the different keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N
