Anyone else not able to post on this topic? "Connecting with Starling Bank account"
The cynical side of me would say the topic has been locked, but if others can post then I guess it's just my account :) This is the error I get every time I attempt to post.
This topic is still open, DBCerigo.
As I checked this thread (Connecting with Starling Bank account), seems like you were able to post your answer successfully. There are instances that the overloaded files stored in your browser is causing you not being able to post your answer.
In this situation, you might want to use a private window when opening the Community site. Clearing your browser’s cache or switching to a different one would also help.
Nonetheless, thanks for sharing your thoughts about this certain topic. Drop by again if you need anything else.
Hi yep thanks,
Do you know if there are restrictions on posting links in a message here? As removing a link from the attempted message seemed to be the thing that fixed it.
If so then there might be a better message to present to the user then "An Unexpected Error has occurred." if it is a disallowed link in the message that's causing it.
No worries though :)
Hi DBCerigo,
Our system filters any links before posting them. If there are unacceptable commands or formats, the "An Unexpected Error has occurred." message will show. It's the error message for all kinds of errors in the Community.
However, I can certainly pass it along to our products engineers. We will make sure to put emphasis on which part of the content that's causing the error.
We appreciate your feedback. If you have other questions, please let us know. We are here to help.
Am I right in thinking the thread in question has now completely disappeared? I've been keeping an eye on it to see whether I stick with Quickbooks or migrate, and if it's been deleted I'd be very interested to know why.
Hi @MattMcKeownCreative , we're in the process of creating a new article that will reflect updates on all Digital banks including Starling.
Once this has been created, and is due to be published very soon, our Banking team can reach out to you directly so you're aware of the link.
Thanks
That's (potentially) great news, JackS, and I look forward to reading it once published. But it doesn't really address the disappearance of the thread where people voiced their displeasure at the way the whole thing's been handled so far. It's pretty unprofessional to just sweep that whole conversation under the carpet, if that is indeed what's happened.
.....it will be published very soon.... that old chestnut! Isn't that what your Starling Bank (now missing) thread was promised time and again - yes integration will happen soon. I mean we had a date on the integration, a promise no less, that not later than 14th of September integration will happen. I am really surprised that this thread has been removed!! I don't think anyone on that thread wanted to have anything else published, just the integration. So why don't you guys at QB just work on that instead. If my accountant wouldn't insist on me using QB I would have gone long time ago. The customer service has been just atrocious.
Locking that other thread on all this!?!? Absolutely classic (terrible) way to deal with failure, let's just try and delete it and pretend it never happened... A great sign from any company aye?
I'm totally with the other posters - it's my accountant that uses QB. If I could, I wouldn't go anywhere near their services and I can't help myself telling anyone who has to do accounts to avoid what's obviously an incumbent in the industry :\
Hi
Is this article ready yet given that was a month ago? I’m about to move to Starling and need to know how I can get my bank details into QuickBooks.
This question has been going on for months now and you said it was being sorted mid-September with open banking but it still seem to be available.
Please give an actual date this is will be possible
Yes how about an update? This is beyond ridiculous now. Seems like nobody on the QB team gives flying flamingos about their customers.
We have been working towards linking up with Starling Bank, and our engineers are aware of, AnnaNW.
I'd suggest submitting a request as one of the users who wants the Starling Bank to be connected. Within QuickBooks, click the Banking menu. Select Add account and type Starling Bank in the search field. Then, click Request for your bank.
In the meantime, you'll want to manually upload your bank transactions.
Keep me posted if there's anything else that I can help you with.
This is the same meaningless answer you’ve given for months. It’s not an actual date and to me reads as either you don’t know how to do it technically (hello openbanking) or you don’t care.
Either way, I’m not waiting anymore.
Thanks
Dom
I do hope Starling integration can be achieved before year end. It's been in the queue for quite a few months now.
I’m using xero now. It works exceptionally well :)
