Hi Ruth13, The Amex live feed is no longer available, we are working on a new connection which will be available in the coming months. More information on that can be found here.
In the meantime you can import bank transactions via an excel spreadsheet in the cog in the top right>impoort data>bank data, it is a case of downloading the transactions first and then saving it as a CSV. There is a helpful guide on importing them available here.
Thanks - as I disconnected it, it’s not showing as a ‘tile’ only in history with only option to ‘reconcile’ and not upload transactions. How do I get it back as a tile so I can see it easily and update it ? Thanks
Hello again, @ruth13.
Reconnecting your Amex bank feed is currently unavailable. As mentioned by my peer, we’re working on a new connection that will be available in the coming months.
You’ll see a banner on the Banking menu when the Open Banking connection is ready for your financial institution. Aside from that, the master admin will also receive an email from QuickBooks informing the steps needed to complete the update.
Check out the Upgrade your bank feed connection to Open Banking guide for more information. It outlines the instructions on how to switch to the new connection as well as answers to frequently asked questions.
Keep me posted if you have any clarifications or questions. I’ll be right here to answer them for you. Have a great rest of the day.
Hi, Since I disconnected (even though it wasn’t auto uploading) the American Express account isn’t showing in ‘banking’ only in ‘history’ so there’s no option for me to import / upload transactions as it’s only possible in ‘history’ to add each transaction manually individually. How do I make this go back into ‘banking’ so there’s the option to upload data. Please advise.
Hello there, ruth13,
For accounts not connected to online banking, follow these steps below:
You can also follow this:
Hi I don’t think you understand the problem. I know how to import the data but the account which was not auto updating at the time was correctly visible in banking and I was importing data fine before I disconnected it to try to get it reconnected not knowing that it was a known thing that it won’t auto update. Now the problem is it’s not showing in banking now and it’s only in history, so I can’t follow any of the steps as the account is not showing in banking. Please advise what to do so that it shows in banking again so I can import the data.
Aside from the banking page, there's another way to upload these transactions, Ruth13.
Follow the second option MaryLurleenM provided. It lets you import the transactions in the Gear icon.
Once done, the bank account should show on the Banking page again. Then, you can already categorise and match online bank transactions.
