I have 3 business accounts. GPB account, Euro account and a USD account. Currently they are all showing in GBP currency. Can you change the currency on the ledger?

Hey Nicky29,

Did you setup the correct currency on the chart of account for each bank? You can check this by going to Chart of Accounts > Edit on the drop-down, and viewing the Currency.

Once the account is created the currency cannot be changed, you would need to disconnect the bank account (check 'disconnect this account on save') and create a new account for the bank with the correct currency, then connect the bank account to this.

Thanks

I have deleted all the accounts and tried the setup process again. All 3 accounts are with the same back and they drag all 3 accounts over with all the data. I don’t get an option of entering in a currency.  My online banking shows the different currencies but this doesn’t seem to be transported over to quickbooks

Hi,  I deleted all the accounts and tried re installing but all my accounts are with the same bank and when I add the account details it transfers all the accounts in one go and doesn’t give an option of selecting a currency. However the currency on my online banking is correct. So I don’t understand why the currency is not transporting over correctly

Hello there, @Nicky29.

Let me share some information about connecting bank transactions with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When connecting bank accounts with QBO, let's make sure that the Multicurrency is turned on in your QuickBooks account and also the settings to download the transactions as multicurrency.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Gear Icon.
  2. Under Your Company, choose Account and Settings.
  3. Select Advanced.
  4. Click the edit (pencil) icon in the Currency section and choose your Home Currency.
  5. Select the Multicurrency checkbox and confirm that you understand that you can't undo this option.
  6. Click Save

For additional reference, you can check these articles to learn more on how to manage banking in QBO UK:

Please let me know how it goes. I'll be around to help if you have additional questions about the multicurrency feature. I'll be around to help. Have a good one.
