Hello Jezz789, so having had a look into this more we are aware of this issue and our engineers are looking into it however this issue is somewhat of a cosmetic error and will not affect your transactions. As shown in the transactions page the dates are still up to date. Just check in the gear icon > connect banks to check if the bank account needs renewal or update as it will tell you the status of the account there for you.
Thank you for this.
Cosmetic issue, fair enough. I hope your engineers will be able to fix it sooner rather than later, however.
The blue box occupies a sizeable chunk of the screen that I would prefer to be available for viewing transactions!
I originally logged this issue in October 2021, and despite being told on more than one occasion that the issue had been resolved, as others have attested to, it has not.
As for it being a 'cosmetic' issue, what a poor excuse! It occupies a significant portion of my window, see attached screenshot...
As for a solution, 7 months after logging this issue with no resolution, and a (seemingly) ever growing list of bug bears with QB on my part, I am in the process of switching to Xero.
quickbooks,
As of 3 days ago your webpage is incapable of loading into Firefox.
I'm now forced to use google chrome, which I do not wish to use.
The ongoing bank sync error, which used to be coloured blue is
now coloured orange. Screenshot attached. The bank connection
still appears to be working, however.
Syncing a bank account with an accounts package is the linchpin
of your product. Any failure at that level is not a 'cosmetic' issue.
It is a major flaw. Your inability to resolve this flaw means I too will
now look to moving to one of your (more capable) competitors.
This isn't the kind of experience we want you have, Simon_D.
Let me help and make sure to address your concern about the bank connection message in QuickBooks Online.
As mentioned by my colleague @Ashleigh1 above, we are fully aware of this issue and we are working with our product engineers to fix this. But, rest assured this will not affect any of your transactions.
You should be able to reestablish bank connection by clicking the hyperlink Renew your connection. If not, we can disconnect and reconnect the account to successfully renew the connection.
To disconnect the account:
Next, reconnect the bank account:
If the issue persists and the bank connection message still shows, I recommend reaching our Support Team to investigate further about this unusual behavior.
You're always welcome to post your other banking concerns here in the Community. We're always here to assist. Take care and enjoy your day.
This is becoming surreal, and not in a good way!
Intuit are "fully aware" of this but the issue persists, more than six months since the first post in this thread.
Those with the issue have all stated that the bank connection still works, despite the error messages, but instructions are given to disconnect and reconnect, nonetheless.
Finally there is the suggestion to contact the support team.... presumably to avoid washing your laundry in public.
I believe we would all appreciate a more honest approach: "We recognise that this is an ongoing issue but have not yet managed to find a solution."
If 25% of an Excel spreadsheet were taken up with an error message, would Microsoft call that "cosmetic"?!?!?!?
OK - I'm DONE.
Now Quickbooks is constantly loading pop-ups
for referrals on the page I'm trying to do my accounting!
Since this started I now have to log out and log back
in again for the bank uploads to complete. And the
connection status 'cosmetic' notification remains.
Used Quicken for years - decent package.
Quickbooks is useless. Cancelling my subscription.
Over and OUT
This is an issue for me - was fine for the first three months but now it's asking me to renew daily - red box appears on the screen each time saying 'renew your connection'
Hello Phillk99, Please can you ring the supporting on 088 234 5337, the line is open mon to fri 8am to 7pm and is free from any UK landline or mobile and the agent on the phone will be able to have a look in the system for you and see what it is saying and if there is any error codes showing up and that for you.
Hi
I am getting this on my system as well using a Halifax account.
Just thought i would add a post to let you know that its not sorted like a lot of other things with your software.
Shame
I have this problem as well with my Nationwide accounts. It's a bit worse though.
The blue bordered box appears for a few seconds when I go to the transactions on the browser app. Then it disappears and puts 12 red bordered boxes above the transaction list, one for every time I've reauthorised.
However, transactions are still coming through so communication with the bank must be good. Also every time I reauthorise it sets up duplicate transactions and another account in the pop down list for one of the linked accounts
On the screenshot the account name is "Your Nationwide Building Society (UK) - old". It got named this sometime in the past and I've to found a way to change it but the "-old" has no significance the accounts on this connection are the ones in use.
I appreciate you chiming in the thread, Colin. I'll ensure you'll get the right direction to help you sort this out in a safe environment.
You'll need to connect with our Technical Support team. This way, they can check your account and see if it's an internal issue. They can also guide a fix for this matter or create a ticket for investigation if needed.
