Hello there, a-mcgahern.
I'll make sure you're able to connect your Co-operative Business Bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO) to keep track of your transactions.
You'll see several Co-operative Business Bank options when you search it from the connect an account wizard. I'd suggest visiting your bank's website and copy its URL. Then, paste it in the Connect an account window's search box. This will let you log in to your correct bank.
Once done, QuickBooks automatically download your recent transactions. You can assign and categorize them to complete the process. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps: Assign, categorise, edit, and add your downloaded banking transactions. It also contains information on how to accept multiple transactions at once.
In case you're unable to locate your bank's name after performing the steps above, you can request support for your bank. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps: Find your bank account when you connect to online banking. It also contains complete information about why you can't find or connect to your bank.
Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
I also have this problem. The Bank connection wasn't working. So I disconnected my bank account and then have tried to re-connect it - but find that the UK Co-operative Bank - Business - is no longer listed. Is there a problem with the bank specifically or should I be doing something different in Quickbooks?
No I’m looking for the UK Co-operative Business Bank that was removed from the list when it was having issues?
Are you still trying to fix this? I’m am currently uploading CSV files which isn’t great.
thanks
Hi I’m having to upload CSV files which isn’t great.
I'm not sure if they are still working on a fix
Hello A-mcgahern,
The co-operative will be moving over to open banking when you see the update banner then it will allow you to move to the new feed.
The ability to direct feed from the co op bank will be stopped today.
Im told by quickbooks its because the co op software/system isnt compatible or because they havent adhered to EU regs that came in to play today, in time- with regard to open banking.
Im told by the co op bank its up to the third party ( quickbooks) to work with the banks system- not the other way round.
Somebody is telling porkies here.
Im very unhappy that quickbooks are still happily charging me £25 a month for a service thats no longer any good.
I am not a computer expert and downloading csv files is a pain and totally defeats the object of having quickbooks.Plus i dont know how to do it.
Quickbooks is supposed to be quick and easy for small businesses- not a system that only a computer/it graduate can use!
When i contacted yesterday i was told id got to 'map' the csv- what the hell is that??
I sell fitted kitchens we are a small family business-the explanation and help literature on downloading bank csv files is useless, the semantics are very poor and cause confusion.
I am told i either move to xero that support co op feeds, or i change my bank to a bank that quickbooks use.
I am not told how long it will be before a co op feed will - if ever- happen.
Poor show slowbooks!!! sorry i mean quickbooks.
Hello Jo b,
Thanks for joining this thread.
In line with the FCA and implementation of PSD2 regulations for open banking which comes into effect in the UK on the 14th March, we have removed the standard feed connection for all bank providers within QuickBooks. This connection was reliant upon the user regularly inputting their bank's login credentials and MFA information when connecting to their account to retrieve data through a third-party.
The new regulation allows customers to share their financial information electronically, securely and with permission that is confirmed every 90 days (nullifying the need to enter credentials each time). After the Open Banking deadline on 14th March, the only bank-feed data available in QuickBooks is via an Open Banking API or the bank's fallback mechanism.
Unfortunately, owing to the impending regulatory deadline and our legal obligation, we've had to take the difficult decision to disable the standard feed connection, for banks who do not currently offer this. We have waited until the last possible moment to remove the feed to see if we could maintain a connection and minimize the disruption to your business. We continue to work around the clock in cooperation with the banks to deliver a new feed for you. In the meantime the product remains viable through CSV imports of downloaded statements - click here to see how this works.
Thanks
My feed to Cooperative has failed too. And...Since now being forced to download and import CSVs earlier this month that has started to fail as well. The numbers just won't add up, I am getting duplicates and missing items and have to manually check every item against the statement. What to do? Is there a list of accounts here on Quickbooks that I can depend on to work? if I have to change bank I need to ensure it does not simply start happening again.
Hello, @MakeWorkPlay.
Our engineers are now continuously updating our bank feeds to comply with the new Open Banking regulations. If your bank account is one of the unsupported banks with Open Banking, then yes, you can use the CSV import until the new connection becomes available.
For the lists of banks with accounts available on Open Banking, check out this article: Understanding if you can upgrade your bank feeds to Open Banking.

Hello Community Users, we just wanted to pop onto this thread to advise that The Co-operative bank connection is available to use under open banking. If you have a personal Co-operative bank account, it may require you to entera user id and password when updating your transactions.
