Since the 3 month renewal imposed by Barclays I cannot reconnect 5 of my 6 Barclays a/cs. When reconnecting, it says "connected" with a green tick, but it isn't :-( .

The connection between Barclays and QuickBooks Online (QBO) is important to keep your account up to date and monitor your transactions, simonbrew. Let's retrigger their connection using Barclays website's URL. This ensures you're using the correct listing of the bank. I'm here to guide you how.

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Add account.
  3. On your bank website's screen, copy the URL and then paste it into the Enter your bank name or URL search box.
  4. Choose the bank emblem.
  5. Manually enter your User ID and Password for the financial institution website.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Complete the extra security verification and select Connect.
  8. Select the Account type drop-down menu to your bank account.
  9. Click Connect.

In case the suggested steps above didn't work, you can sign in to Barclays' website again. Then, check your account page for messages or alerts. Once reviewed, manually update the account again. If you make changes on the website, do the same in the system. For more details, check out this article: What To Do If Bank Transactions Won't Download or There's A Bank Error

Moreover, you can also keep your account updated by manually uploading your bank transactions. Please take note that there might be duplicate transactions once the connection is fixed. You just need to exclude them to keep your account accurate. For the detailed steps, kindly refer to this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Once done, you'll have to approve the way the software categorises the transactions. Then, match them against the entries in QuickBooks. To learn more about this, kindly visit this article: Categorising Bank Transactions
